The Back Nine
A private park offered exclusively to residents of Grandview Heights VII
UPDATE - We are slightly delayed on our March 1st opening because of issues with insurance approval, contractor delays, and winter weather. Additionally, insurance requirements currently prevent us from allowing anyone to use the property at this time. We will continue offering the early sign-up discount for those who join before our official opening. No payments will be processed until the park is open, but pre-registering locks in savings and guarantees your spot in this exclusive private retreat.
Click the ‘Join Now’ button for more info.

A big thanks to John Selby and other volunteers for all the work they have done on the front entrances. To support these ongoing efforts, we plan to donate a portion of The Back Nine membership fees toward maintaining the entrances.
Our Mission
We are Greg and Christy Thayer. Our goal is to preserve the beautiful land behind our home as a shared space for our neighborhood. We envision a place where families and neighbors can gather, explore, and enjoy the outdoors, fostering connections with nature and each other. We want to ensure this land remains a valued part of our community, a legacy to be passed down to future generations.
It all began with an idea.
We recognized this area’s potential to be more than just open land. By preserving it, we aim to create a welcoming environment for everyone, whether for a peaceful morning walk, an afternoon of family fishing, or a convenient path to Hilldale Elementary and Grandview Park. We believe natural spaces are invaluable for building connections, grounding us in the present, and preserving beauty for the future.

Walking/Bicycle Pass
Our 1.25-mile walking path offers a peaceful route with beautiful lake views along the way. It’s the perfect spot for a morning stroll or an evening walk, where you can enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the lake and unwind in this shared neighborhood space.
School and Park Access
Enjoy direct access to Hilldale Elementary and the new Grandview Park, making it easy to walk your kids to school without the hassle of long car lines at drop-off and pick-up. This convenient connection allows families to seamlessly enjoy both the school and park right from the neighborhood.
Fishing Pass
The fishing pass grants each household member access to fish in our scenic 7-acre lake. To maintain a high-quality fishing experience, we strictly enforce a catch and release policy, ensuring a peaceful and well-maintained environment for regular anglers.
